What is Apple News+?
Apple News+
Apple News+ is a paid subscription service that collates magazines, newspapers and digital publications into a curated experience within Apple News. It’s available on Mac, iPhone and iPad in the UK, US and Canada, costing $9.99/£9.99 per month.
Apple News+ subscribers can access current and past issues and individual articles from participating titles, which include National Geographic, Wall St Journal, Vox, Skimm and Vogue. Stories are presented in ‘Apple News Format’ which allows the creation of print-style layouts as well as digital features like animated covers.
An “issue” in Apple News+ is a collection of stories from a publication. A publication can choose to deliver every single page from their print title (which can even include print advertisements) or can choose to deliver a number of stories. These stories are presented side by side within an issue, or individually if the reader finds an article by interest or recommendation within the app. If a publication has an Apple News channel they can promote News+ articles from ‘free’ articles in News.
